Abstract

Christian education has an important role in shaping the character and morals of students, not only through the teaching of doctrine and rites, but also by emphasizing understanding and appreciation of diversity. The purpose of this research is to explore and analyze the concept of Understanding Diversity in the context of Christian Religious Education to build tolerance and mutual respect. The research uses a Literary Review approach with a focus on critical analysis and synthesis of data from relevant sources. Understanding Diversity in this context is not just about acknowledging differences between individuals or groups, but also appreciating the underlying values. In Christian Religious Education, it highlights the importance of awareness of plurality in religious beliefs and practices, as well as how this can enrich perspectives and deepen the appreciation of faith. By deepening this understanding, it is hoped that an inclusive environment will be created where tolerance and mutual respect are not only spoken values, but also implemented in daily life. The results of the study show that the concept of Understanding Diversity has great potential to influence the formation of character and morals in Christian religious education, promote an open attitude to differences, and facilitate dialogue between religious communities. This study is not only academic in nature, but is also expected to make a practical contribution in strengthening the values of peace and harmony in society, where diversity is valued as a unifying force.
